LEAK DETECTION

There are two types of leaks that we can detect, water leaks and gas leaks.   Where they are located could be in a couple of different places.  The most common leaks that we've had to detect are slab leaks.  These leaks are located in the slab foundation of a home or business.  In my experience, I have detected more hot slab leaks than cold.  This usually occurs due to the expanding and contracting of the pipe inside the concrete slab.  We are also able to electronically locate your pipes in the slab and locate your leak within a two foot area.

VIDEO INSPECTION

Video inspection involves inserting a camera into a sewer line that is usually 3 1/2" up to 6" in diameter.  With the ability of going the length of 250 ft, we will inspect the integrity of the pipe as well as find the cause of the problem.  In most cases the reason for the inspection is because the homeowner may be experiencing multiple backups.  This could be due to a broken pipe, or if your sewer line is old enough, you may have root intrusion from a nearby tree.  In any case, we are able to video the line, identify the problem and locate exactly where the problem is.  We take this information and record it right onto a DVD.

UTILTIY LOCATION

Before you dig, build on an open site, or you just need to know where your utilities are , it's a good idea to call for a utility location.  With our equipment we are able to locate water, gas, sewer, storm drains and electrical in the area in question.  As these utilities are located, flags and/or paint are used to mark the utility as well as its direction.  Once the area has been properly swept and marked, all of this information is then transferred to a sketch sheet for your records.

SMOKE TESTING

Have you ever walked into a room and had to experience the foul odor of sewer gas?  Somewhere in the plumbing system sewer gas is escaping into the air and needs to be found.  How do you find something you can't see?  We have the ability to introduce non-harmful smoke into the system and determine exactly where the sewer gas is coming from.  Oftentimes you'll find this odor in a restroom due to a toilet's faulty wax seal.
